ROSSEAU FARMERS MARKET: WHY COURT ACTION IS REQUIRED

Every vendor’s membership is in annual peril

For the past two years Rosseau Farmers Market Board of Directors has denied me my rightful vendor space at Rosseau Market. To do this the Directors have found it necessary to claim that membership in the Market is renewed annually— which means that every member’s continued membership and participation in the Market is subject to the whims of those who happen to be Directors in any given year. Such a scheme completely abrogates the membership rights and protections guaranteed by the Co-operative Corporations Act and by the By-Laws of the Market itself.

I refuse to be their first victim. I am consequently forced to seek justice in the courts—for myself, for the other members of Rosseau Market, and for members of farmers market co-operatives throughout Ontario. I have filed an Application with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.                                                                                               Read Affidavit

                                                                  Note: A revised Affidavit

                                                                            will be posted soon.

Please stay tuned. This is a fight for the long haul.
